Meet our designer/founder
I have always had a fascination for art and an interest in the challenging world of mathematics and physics. Even though I started painting at an early age, I decided to pursue my studies in a more technical field of Engineering. I received my Civil Engineering Degree in 2006 from the University of British Columbia. Shortly after, my career path led me to Dubai. After six years in the engineering profession, I took a leap and pursued my lifelong passion for art and design.
In 2012, I started to dabble with furniture, the perfect marriage between art and engineering, repainting them and adding custom touches like personalized cushions. Soon I expanded to smaller home accessories, designing various one-of-a-kind pieces, such as hand painted couch cushion covers. That was the start of Shenasi Concept!
Early 2014, one of my closest friends was expecting a little girl and asked me to help decorate her nursery by designing some custom pieces. My very first piece was a hand-painted chair with a 3D ballerina on the back. When I shared the pictures on social media you could say it kind of went viral amongst my friends and their friends. Soon I was getting commissioned to do all kinds of fun and colourful kids pieces. I then started my Etsy store, just like that Shenasi Concept Kid was born!
I’m so happy I took the chance and combined my passion with my profession. Every day it warms my heart to see my pieces adorn and liven up the walls of so many homes around the world. And to know that kids everywhere are growing up with a little piece of my heart and imagination. I’m working hard to create new characters and pieces every day and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do making them.
Yours truly♥♥♥
